Hey Everybody!  First of all, a great big ‘thank you’ to everyone who voted in the poll about updating The ChatterBox with the seasons! I enjoyed seeing the results=).  The majority of the voters said “yes! I love festive blogs!” so, after seeing that, I set off to give The ChatterBox a ‘Christmasy’ look. But, to my great disappointment about the only thing WordPress would let me customize was the header=( I noticed that Blogger let you customize just about anything AND there were a tone of sites where you could get cute templates for free. So, I did something spontaneous and probably a little crazy…. I moved everything over to Blogger!  The new URL is jade-thechatterbox.blogspot.com. So head on over there and let me know what ya think=) And if any of you have me on your blogroll I would really appreciate it if you changed the URL. Thanks!

One Boycott Ends, Another Begins…..

For those of you who read my post a few months ago about my family boycotting Mcdonalds, you’ll understand why I’m so excited! AFA called off the boycott when McDonald’s agreed to changes. So that means I can have some good ole McDonald’s fries! It’s such a great feeling to know that our efforts paid off and actually made a difference. A big “Thank You” to all who participated in the boycott, I know it was hard at times and you felt like you just HAD to have some good fries and a hot apple pie, but, you made a huge difference by sticking with it and that makes it all worth it right?

Well as one boycott ends, another begins…..

My good friend Courtney told me the other day about Google being a supporter of gay rights. Bummer. You can read her post about it here  and you can read the official article from Google here. Her family also set up a boycott site for Google called Shame on Google if you want to go over and sign up.

Well, thats all the news I have for right now=)

Last wedensday was Autumn’s 18th birthday! Well we waited till friday to do a big celebration because Fireproof was coming out in theatres and we thought it would be the perfect way to celebrate. Here are few pics from friday…….

Before Going to see the movie we ate at one of our favorite resaurants The Macaroni Grill….

Mom and the birthday girl

~Sisters~

Then it was gift time! Amber made her work for her presents=) She had to do whatever the notes said to get her gift……..

My favorite one was she had to wear a “Birthday Girl” crown the whole time we were eating……

Ha Ha my turn to make her work……

Inside the box was a round box neatly wrapped in toilet paper and tied with a pretty bow…..but instead of unwrapping it like she was supposed to she tore right through it! I never thought of her being able to do that……anyway inside the round box was candy corn pumpkins and……..

Inside that was a little box…….wrapped in duct tape

After we ate one of the waitresses sang happy birthday to her in Italian! She had such a beautiful voice and she was so sweet! she let me take a picture of her while she was singing!

After that we went to see Fireproof and if any of you haven’t seen this movie, GO SEE IT!! It’s amazing! I can’t wait until it comes out on dvd.

Here’s a few pics Autumn took of Me and Ashton on the way home…….

Have a Great day!

Yes, I’m one of those last minute packers=) I put it off till the last minute like always and I stayed up way too late doing it just like always. When will I ever learn?

Well, I’m off to get some Z’s before it’s time to get up and go! Please pray for us to have a safe trip and for our van to behave because it’s been dying on us lately=(

SEE YA IN 3 WEEKS!!

Give it all for Christ pt.2~Pick Up Your Cross

” If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.” (Matthew 16:24-26)

Notice that Jesus didn’t say “Pick up your cross when it’s convenient for you, then when you get tired or have something else to do just sit it down and come back and get it when you have the time.”  No, he said pick it up and follow me. Jesus’ life was not an easy one, he was mocked, beaten, humiliated, and hung on the cross! But through all that he never sinned, he could have called 10,000 angels, he could have gotten out of the whole thing but instead he endured the painful death on the cross as the last and perfect sacrifice.

Paul said in 1 Corinthians 11:25-27  “Five times I received at the hands of the Jews the forty lashes less one. Three times I was beaten with rods. Once I was stoned. Three times I was shipwrecked; a night and a day I was adrift at sea; on frequent journeys, in danger from rivers, danger from robbers, danger from my own people, danger from Gentiles, danger in the city, danger in the wilderness, danger at sea, danger from false brothers; in toil and hardship, through many a sleepless night, in hunger and thirst, often without food, in cold and exposure.”  Paul went through many persecutions for his faith, but through all of those persecutions he didn’t lose sight of his goal, he never set aside faith to make his life easier or more convenient.

We need to be like Paul when he said in Philippians 1:21“For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.”  Christ meant everything to him! His whole life revolved around Jesus! That’s how we need to be, even if means giving up money, a job, a sport, or even a vacation. Following Christ isn’t an thing to do, Jesus never even hinted that it would be easy, he said “For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.” (Matthew 7:14).

So, yes we will have to face many hard things from this world that might seem overwhelming and unfair at the time, but we have so many advantages  that this world doesn’t have. We have a living God who loves us and to whom we can go  and lean on when we’re tired and worn out, a Savior who has paid the price for our sins, and the hope and assurance of Heaven. All these blessings far out weigh the hardships we might have to endure.

Blessings,

Jade
