One Boycott Ends, Another Begins…..

For those of you who read my post a few months ago about my family boycotting Mcdonalds, you’ll understand why I’m so excited! AFA called off the boycott when McDonald’s agreed to changes. So that means I can have some good ole McDonald’s fries! It’s such a great feeling to know that our efforts paid off and actually made a difference. A big “Thank You” to all who participated in the boycott, I know it was hard at times and you felt like you just HAD to have some good fries and a hot apple pie, but, you made a huge difference by sticking with it and that makes it all worth it right?

Well as one boycott ends, another begins…..

My good friend Courtney told me the other day about Google being a supporter of gay rights. Bummer. You can read her post about it here  and you can read the official article from Google here. Her family also set up a boycott site for Google called Shame on Google if you want to go over and sign up.

Well, thats all the news I have for right now=)

Can’t Even Imagine…..

“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined the things that God has prepared for those who love Him” 1 Corinthians 2:9.

This verse just fills me with awe and excitement every time I read it. I look around at all His beautiful creation that just blows me away with it’s beauty and all around perfect design, and try to imagine something even more beautiful and perfect then that. I just can’t even begin to comprehend something so glorious.  I think about all the beautiful scenes of sunrises and sunsets, mountains and lakes that just make me say “what an amazing God we serve!”.  Yes He created this marvelous sight but He has prepared something even more wonderous than this for those who love Him. And knowing that just boggles my mind! I mean, nobody has EVER seen, heard or even imagined anything close to it! Who can help but get excited when they read this verse? We truly serve an awesome God.

Last wedensday was Autumn’s 18th birthday! Well we waited till friday to do a big celebration because Fireproof was coming out in theatres and we thought it would be the perfect way to celebrate. Here are few pics from friday…….

Before Going to see the movie we ate at one of our favorite resaurants The Macaroni Grill….

    Mom and the birthday girl

Then it was gift time! Amber made her work for her presents=) She had to do whatever the notes said to get her gift……..

My favorite one was she had to wear a “Birthday Girl” crown the whole time we were eating……

Ha Ha my turn to make her work……

Inside the box was a round box neatly wrapped in toilet paper and tied with a pretty bow…..but instead of unwrapping it like she was supposed to she tore right through it! I never thought of her being able to do that……anyway inside the round box was candy corn pumpkins and……..

Inside that was a little box…….wrapped in duct tape

After we ate one of the waitresses sang happy birthday to her in Italian! She had such a beautiful voice and she was so sweet! she let me take a picture of her while she was singing!

After that we went to see Fireproof and if any of you haven’t seen this movie, GO SEE IT!! It’s amazing! I can’t wait until it comes out on dvd.

Here’s a few pics Autumn took of Me and Ashton on the way home…….

    Our Source of Joy

Everybody wants to be happy, there’s not a single person in world that wants their life to be miserable and boring. That’s why we are constantly looking for things to make us happy either consciously or unconsciously, alot of times we might not even realize what we’re doing we just instinctively go for those pleasurable things. Sometimes we might try to find it in money thinking if we had more everything would be great and worry free!  As young ladies sometimes we might think if only I was as pretty as so and so over there I would be so much more content and happy!, And sometimes we try to buy things to make us happy like some new clothes, books, or some kind of new gadget everybody else we know seems to be  getting. And if we buy these things they’re sure to bring us hours of entertainment and fun but once the new wears off and something newer comes out we’re back to where we started! So nothing in this world can bring true, genuine, everlasting joy.

True, genuine, everlating joy comes from God. Jesus says in John 15:9-11As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love. These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.”   We can find true joy by abiding in Christ’s love. How do we abide in Christ’s love? By obeying His commandments. That kind of joy  is not easily shaken or destroyed but continues to grow and abound as we walk closer with our Heavenly Father.

Hey everybody! I just wanted to let ya’ll know we made it home Thursday safe and sound and thank ya’ll so much for your sweet comments, they were so encouraging to see when I got back and I’ll try to reply to them ASAP. I know I said I was only gonna be gone 2 weeks and that WAS the plan until the Friday before last! But, things don’t always go our way=(  The plan was for 2 of us kids to go to my grandparent’s on my Mom’s side and the other2 go to the grandparent’s on my dad’s side for 1 week then switch for another week and then that following weekend Mom and Dad were gonna come up and the 2 that were at Grandbuddyand Grandma’s house (my Mom’s side) were gonna come to Grandma-Marge and Grandpa’s house for the family reunion. Well the Monday before the reunion Dad got sick with a virus and by Thursday it had turned in to pneumonia and Mom started getting sick the virus, so they couldn’t make it up to the reunion and they didn’t want us to catch it so we stayed until the worst part passed. With alot of prayer and alot of rest he got a good report from the doctor Wednesday and by Thursday we were home! Other than knowing Mom and Dad were at home sick and them having to go grocery shopping like that the vacation was fun! I did alot of shopping, had an experience on a bucking/runaway horse (that was actually fun), played alot of bat-mitten (that’s not my best sport but it was fun!), played lots of cards, made peanut butter fudge (it was de-lic-ious), and just hung out with our family. I’ll try to put some pictures up later this week.

Thank you so much for your prayers! The van did great both there and back. Please keep my Dad in your prayers as he continues to recover. Lord willing I’ll get this blog back into the swing of things this week.

P.S. Sorry if this post is jumbled and feels like your running in circles! It’s still kind of jumbled up in my brain as to how and when everything happend, I just know this, time flies when your having fun and no matter how much fun your having you still miss your family when your apart.
